TheNE8051isahighly-integratedsingle-chipWPC-compliantwirelesspowertransmitterICforpowertransmitterdesignA1/A5/A6/A11andsinglecoilB3/B4.Thedeviceoperateswiththeinputvoltagerangefrom5Vto19V,andsuppliesonesetofexternalfullbridgeorone/threesetsofexternalhalf-bridgeinvertersforDC/ACconversion.Itcontrolsthetransferredpowerbymodulatingtheswitchingfrequency,duty-cycleandphasespecifiedbytheWPCspecificationforA1/A5/A6/A11andB3/B4transmitters.Itcontainsmixed-**circuitsrequiredtodemodulateanddecodeWPC-compliantmessagepacketssentbythemobiledevicetoadjustthetransferredpower.
TheNE8151isanintelligentdevicethatperiodicallypingstheareasurroundingthebasestationtodetectamobiledeviceforchargingwhileminimizingidlepower.Oncethemobiledeviceisdetectedandauthenticated,theNE8151continuouslymonitorsallcommunicationsfromthemobiledevice,andadjuststhetransmittedpoweraccordinglybyvaryingtheswitchingfrequency,dutycycleorphaseoftheinverter.Formediumpowerstandard,italsoprovidestheFSKmodulationforcommunication.
Thedeviceincludesover-temperature/voltage/currentprotectionandaForeignObjectDetection(FOD)methodtoprotectthebasestationandmobiledevicefromoverheatinginthepresenceofametallicforeignobject.ItmanagesfaultconditionsassociatedwithpowertransferandcontrolsstatusLEDstoindicateoperatingmodes.
NE8051shallsupportbothlowandmediumpowerstandards.Forthelowpowerstandard,itshallbecompliantwithversion1.1.2standard.Version0.9forthemediumpowerisavailablewhenthisdocumentispreparedandshallbeusedasthebasisforthedesign.
